- Pre-heat your oven to 425F in convection or your air fryer to 400F.
- Pour maple syrup in a medium saucepan and add garlic cloves, cinnamon stick and ginger root. Bring to a low simmer and simmer until it reduces to a thick consistency, about 8-10 minutes. Remove garlic, cinnamon and ginger and allow to cool on the side.
- Add your sweet potatoes to a large saucepan and fill with water. Bring to boil and cook until softened, about 8-10 minutes. In the meantime, add the stick of butter in a sautépan and cook on medium-high heat, swirling often, until it browns.
- Add cooked sweet potatoes to a large mixing bowl and pour browned butter on top and mash until smooth. Season with salt.
- Place Lightly Smoked Salmon on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and divide reduced maple syrup in half. Brush one half of the maple on top of salmon each salmon filet and place in oven or air fryer. Cook for about 6-10 minutes. To caramelize salmon, brush a little more syrup on top and broil for another minute.
- Drizzle the remaining half of the maple syrup on top of the mashed sweet potatoes and top with chopped pecans. Serve with salmon and garnish with chopped chives.
